چکیده

The present investigation aimed to evaluate Okra hybrids for growth and yield characteristics during the monsoon season in dry humid regions of Telangana. experiment was conducted under augmented design with nineteen numbers checks over 335 okra hybrids. analysis variance showed significant differences all traits adjusted unadjusted treatment effect moreover also, except number days flowering. comparative mean performance deduced like 21A014, 21A046, 21A064, 21A077, 21A079, 21A095, 21A112, 21A121, 21A181, 21A235, 21A252 Check-12 has performed well condition various characters. genetic parameter revealed that branches, stem internode distance (cm), average fruit weight (g), seed count, per plant (g/plant) hectare (t/ha) resulted moderate Phenotypic Coefficient Variation (PCV), Genotypic (GCV), high broad sense heritability coupled Genetic Advance Mean (GAM). selected can be potentially evaluated summer locations prospective viral tolerance.

Influence of Farmyard Manure and Weeding Regimes on Growth and Yield of Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus L. Moench) in Zaria

Field experiments were conducted during the 2010 and 2011 cropping seasons to investigate the effect of farmyard manure and weeding regimes on the growth and yield of okra. The study was a factorial experiment laid out in split plot design, replicated three times. Farm yard manure was assigned as main plot treatments, while weeding regimes was assigned as sub plot treatments. Parameters measure...

In a two-year study, aqueous seed extracts of the neem tree Azadirachta indica A. Juss (Meliaceae) and Bacillus thurigiensis (Bt) were evaluated in the field for the management of pests of okra, Abelmoschus esculentus (L.) Moench. The aqueous neem seed extracts were applied at the rate of 30, 50, 75 and 100 g/l and B.thurigiensis was applied at the rate 1.0 g/l of water. Actellic 25 EC, a synth...

Assessment of genetic relatedness among okra genotypes [abelmoschus esculentus (l.) Moench] using rapd markers

DNA based RAPD (Randomly Amplification of Polymorphic DNA) markers have been used extensively to study genetic relationships in number of crop plants. In this study, 44 okra genotypes collected from different parts of India, were selected to assess genetic distinctiveness and relatedness. Total genomic DNA was extracted and subjected to RAPD analysis using 14 arbitrary 10 mer primers. The molec...
